Vaccinations: Vaccinating your pet is the best way to prevent some of the most serious illnesses that can infect your best friend. Just like people, pets begin receiving vaccinations at an early age. They will receive a series of vaccines in their first four months and then annual boosters at their yearly checkup. Contact our office for a complete list of vaccines, schedules, pricing and packages.
Spay/Neuter: We believe that sterilization is the best way to not only prevent unwanted pregnancy, but also to prevent many diseases that your pet could be at risk of otherwise.
We work with several organizations that can assist you financially with these valuable procedures. For more information, please see our LINKS page.
Dental Procedures: Keeping a healthy bottom line means keeping a healthy gum line too! Cats and dogs don't often have the benefit of brushing and flossing twice a day like us, so it is even more important to schedule regular teeth cleanings to help prevent gingivitis and periodontal disease. If left untreated, gum disease can lead to other health problems more serious than bad breath! Should it be necessary for us to see what's going on under the surface, we have a digital x-ray machine that provides us with imaging results in minutes.
Laser Surgery: Show your pet you care by taking advantage of this wonderful option we are able to provide. Not only is laser surgery less painful, but it also decreases bleeding risks during surgery and post-operative recovery time.
Radiology: We are proud to announce that in addition to a fully operational general x- ray machine, Des Plaines Family Pet Clinic has recently acquired a new digital dental x- ray machine to assist in diagnosing and treating more complicated dental situations. This will ensure your pet's dental needs will be met on the highest level. The images are developed in house and results available within minutes.
In House Laboratory: In certain situations it is necessary to have results regarding your pet's health immediately. Our clinic is able to perform basic cytology on blood, urine, fecal, and ear swab samples using microscopy. We also use an IDEXX Laboratory in house blood analyzer for pre-surgical and emergency blood work.
On-Site Grooming: Our groomer is very experienced in grooming a wide variety of dog breeds. From a basic bath to a full day at the salon your pet will come out smelling like a rose! Just ask for Danielle!
